Eric Vryn is a Independent photojournalist and documentary photographer covering Central and South Texas.
He photographs politics, civic demonstrations, and the institutions that shape everyday life in Texas. His approach shaped by prior military service and years working inside government and nonprofit sectors.
Texas is a focal point for national politics and policy, where rapid economic growth, infrastructure and development, energy and environmental pressures, border enforcement and immigration, and economic change play out publicly and at scale. He photographs how those issues show up on the ground—in communities, at public events, and in the day-to-day lives of Texans.
He is FAA Part 107 certified. He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). In 2026 he was selected to the Eddie Adams Workshop.
He is based between Austin and San Antonio and works statewide.
